A simple yellow cake for Mother’s Day..
1 2/3 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
9 egg yolks
1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. lemon flavoring (optional)
Mix the dry ingredients flour, baking powder and salt together (lemon flavoring). Beat the egg yolks. Add the boiling water in small amounts. Add sugar slowly. Mix for 12 minutes. Fold in sifted flour mixture. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
